Billing: the free trial, invoices, cards and cancelling

All docs

The billing page

Invoices, your card and cancelling all live on a billing page run by Stripe. To open it:

  1. Go to snowservers.com/login.
  2. Under Billing, enter the email address you paid with and press Email me a billing link.
  3. Open the link in the email. It works once and expires soon, so ask for a new one when you need it again.

Why an email and not a button? That page can cancel your subscription, and we would rather not hand it to anyone who types your address. You can request a link once every five minutes.

The free trial

  • Seven days, on Flurry, for new customers. Monthly billing only. One per person, card and Discord bot: an order that repeats one is cancelled and refunded, or its server paused until the first payment.
  • A card is needed to start it. Nothing is charged for seven days.
  • If you do nothing, it becomes a normal $3 a month subscription and the first charge is on day eight.
  • To avoid being charged, cancel from the billing page before the trial ends. The server stops when the trial does.
  • It cannot be combined with a referral code or the first-month discount.

Invoices and receipts

Past invoices and receipts can be downloaded as PDFs from the billing page, under invoice history.

Changing your card

Billing page, add a payment method, then make it the default. Remove the old one if you like. The next renewal uses the default.

Changing plan

Go to snowservers.com/login and ask for the billing email. Next to the billing page link it has a change plan link, which works for 24 hours. It shows your plan, every bot plan and billing period you can move to, and exactly what is due now before you confirm.

  • Moving up charges the new plan for the rest of your current period, minus what is left of the old one, straight away. Your server gets the bigger limits as soon as the payment goes through.
  • Moving down leaves a credit for the unused part, which comes off your next bills. Your files have to take up no more than 95% of the new plan's disk (9.5 GB on Flurry); if they do not, the page shows how much you store now, so you know how much to delete first.
  • Changing billing period (say monthly to 12 months) starts a new period from today, with the same credit for what is left of the old one. The disk rule above applies here too.

Your files, settings, token and address stay exactly as they are; only the limits change. Restart the bot afterwards so it sees its new memory size.

During the free trial, changing plan ends the trial and starts paying. While a payment has failed, fix the card on the billing page first. Stuck? Ask us and we change it for you.

Cancelling

Billing page, cancel. Your server keeps running until the end of the period you already paid for, then stops. Files and backups are kept for 14 days after that, and then deleted. Download anything you want first.

Changed your mind before the period ends? The billing page lets you renew the plan again, and nothing is interrupted.

Refunds: tell us within seven days of your first payment and we refund it in full. Refund policy.

If a payment fails

Stripe tries the card again over the following days, and your bot keeps running while it does. Update your card on the billing page and the next attempt usually goes through.

If every attempt fails, the subscription ends and the server is suspended: it will not start, but nothing is deleted for 14 days. Contact us and we will get it back.

Something here wrong or out of date? Tell us and it gets fixed.
