Refund policy

Written plainly, and findable before you pay rather than after. This sits alongside the terms; where the two overlap, this page is the detail.

Your first payment

If the server is not what you expected, tell us within seven days of your first payment and we refund it in full, no questions and no form to fill in. This covers the introductory month on any plan.

It applies once per customer, on a first order. It is not a way to run a server for a week every month.

Free trials

A free trial costs nothing, so there is nothing to refund while it runs. Cancel before it ends and you are never charged.

If the trial turns into a paid subscription and that first charge was not what you wanted, it counts as your first payment: tell us within seven days of it and we refund it in full.

Renewals

Renewals are not refunded once they have been taken, because the capacity has been held for you for the period. Cancel before the renewal date and you are not charged again; the server runs to the end of what you have already paid for.

We email before any renewal longer than a month. If a renewal takes you by surprise because we failed to do that, tell us and we will refund it.

Terms longer than a month

Six months is charged at 10% off; twelve months charges ten months for twelve. If you cancel a term longer than a month within fourteen days of paying, we refund it in full. After that we refund the unused whole months at the equivalent monthly rate, less whatever discount the term carried.

When we are at fault

If we lose your data through our own failure, terminate you without cause, or the service is unusable for an extended period because of something on our side, we refund the affected period without you having to argue for it. You do not need to quote a clause at us.

When we do not refund

Suspension or termination for breaking the acceptable use policy is not refunded. Neither is downtime caused by something you installed, a modpack that cannot fit in the memory you bought, or a plan you outgrew. In the last case, move up a plan instead: for bot plans you can do it yourself from the billing email, and it is done without touching your files.

If you are in the UK or EU

You have a statutory right to cancel a distance contract within fourteen days. Because hosting starts immediately, asking us to build the server counts as asking us to begin during that period. You keep the right to cancel within those fourteen days, and we refund what you paid less a proportionate amount for the days the server actually ran.

Nothing on this page limits rights you have by law.

How to ask

Message us on Discord or through the contact page. Say which server and roughly what went wrong; a sentence is plenty. We aim to answer the same day and to send the money back within five working days, to the card or account you paid with. Your bank may take a few days more to show it.

Please talk to us before your bank

A chargeback costs us the disputed amount plus a fee whoever turns out to be right, and it is slower for you than asking. We would rather refund a genuine mistake immediately. See clause 7 of the terms for what raising one instead means.
