What changed

New features and anything else that changes how SnowServers works for you, newest first. Problems and outages go on the status page instead.

Try the panel first, add mods in one click, and a new console

  • A demo panel at demo.snowservers.com: a real Minecraft server you can look around before you buy anything. It signs you in by itself, so you stay signed in to your own account, and it is read-only, so nothing you press can break it. Try it
  • A Mods & plugins tab: search Modrinth for plugins (Paper, Purpur) or mods (Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, modpacks) that fit your server's version, and add one along with anything it needs.
  • The console page has a new look: beside the console are your address (click to copy), uptime and player count, and memory, CPU and disk, with a bar showing how much of your plan is in use.
  • The side menu is grouped under Minecraft, Files and data, Setup and People, so tabs are easier to find.
  • The panel now uses the same fonts as the website.

A database, several bots per plan, and ready-made bots

  • Every plan now includes a MySQL database of up to 1 GB, on the same machine as your server. Make it on the Databases tab; a copy is saved into your files every night so your backups carry it. Using your database
  • Run several bots on one plan: a folder each in bots, their own tokens, packages and restarts, and console commands to manage them one at a time. How it works
  • A Bot library tab with open-source bots ready to set up: Discord Tickets, Modmail and Red. Fill in the token, press add, and it installs on the next restart. What is on the list
  • Minecraft plans get the database too, for plugins such as LuckPerms, shared across a plan's sub-servers.
  • Installing a large set of packages on a 1 GB plan no longer runs out of memory halfway with nothing said about it.

JavaScript and Java bots, deploys from GitHub, and crash alerts

  • Discord bots can run on Node.js 20, 22 or 24 as well as Python. Pick JavaScript at checkout, or switch an existing server under Startup. JavaScript bots
  • Java bots too: upload a runnable jar (JDA and friends) and pick Java 17, 21 or 25. Java bots
  • Deploy from GitHub, GitLab, Codeberg or Bitbucket: paste the repository link, and every restart pulls your newest commits. Private repositories work with a read-only token. How it works
  • Crash alerts: give us a Discord webhook and get a message with the reason when your bot stops on its own. Set it up
  • If your bot stops on its own and stays down for three hours, we email you once with the reason.
  • When a bot crashes for a common reason (a rejected token, a missing package, intents switched off, out of memory), the console now says so in plain words.
  • New Python and JavaScript servers come with a small starter bot that answers /ping, so you can check your token works before uploading anything.
  • Your bot's console output is saved with timestamps in .snowservers/logs, so you can read what happened while you were away.
  • Python 3.13 and 3.14 added. Packages are only reinstalled when requirements.txt or package.json changes, so restarts are quicker.
  • Change plan yourself: the billing email now has a link to move to a bigger or smaller plan, or another billing period. You see what is due before confirming, and the server is resized straight away. How it works

  • A new checkout page: choose the plan, billing period, free trial and server name, and see the exact price before paying.
  • Referrals: a friend gets 20% off their first 3 months, and you get $3 of credit once they have paid.
  • Docs on using SnowServers, from your first bot to backups and billing, and more guides.
  • The website downloads about half as much and no longer stutters on computers without graphics acceleration. The snow is lighter, with a switch in the footer.
  • If your bot still is not running a day after you buy, we email you the steps.
